“Together as One: Tutoring Support for Poverty Students Project” Helps Our Young Take Flight

Jointly launched by the Democratic Progressives Party of the Guangzhou Municipal Communist Party Committee and China Beststudy Education Group in 2014, “Together as One: Beststudy Poverty Support Learning Project” is a charitable project that seeks to provide educational support for students from households requiring assistance.

“Together as One: Beststudy Poverty Support Learning Project” is a three-year program (2014–2016), which has provided targeted extracurricular cultural tutoring courses to 100 elementary and high school students every semester. These are students who have a zealous pursuit for knowledge and a positive outlook, and come from households meeting the criteria for special assistance due to factors such as extremely low income, minimum livelihood guarantees, and military sacrifices. The Democratic Progressives Party of the Guangzhou Municipal Communist Party Committee mobilized various grassroots organizations and all its members to promote the initiative, so as to identify eligible children around them and refer these children to the teaching locations of China Beststudy Education Group. This enables the eligible children to apply for the courses that they need at the teaching locations. As of March 2016, 135 students have participated in the program, with 230,000 yuan in aid provided.

Focused on education, the Democratic Progressives Party of the Guangzhou Municipal Communist Party Committee and China Beststudy Education Group provide support to vulnerable groups and care for students from households facing poverty. The efforts strive to provide children from such households with opportunities to receive high-quality tutoring, in a bid to help them reach greater heights in the future. Since its launch, the “Together as One: Beststudy Poverty Support Learning Project” has had a positive social impact and made an imprint on society.
